Here’s what a few clients have to say:
Startright has been a fantastic provider for us as a school as it has enriched our curriculum offer for students who have an interest in the construction industry. The staff at Startright have always been incredibly welcoming and understanding of the needs of our students and as a result this has created an environment where they feel safe and are happy to learn.
The skills the students have developed over time at Startright has resulted in them having the confidence to access work experience placements in the construction industry and therefore made them more employable. Many of our students have said they have been able to help out at home with DIY tasks which helps students feel like they are giving something back to their home environment. I would recommend Startright to any student who wanted to learn more about the construction industry.
Many thanks, Ben Taylor Deputy Headteacher | www.thewestminsterschool.co.uk |
We have been using the services of Startright Training for several years and they have consistently delivered outstanding support to our students. Their ability to work with some of our more challenging pupils has been invaluable, providing them with viable career progression routes and effectively supplementing our wider educational offer. Steve and Mark exemplify professionalism, subject knowledge and I would thoroughly recommend their provision to any institution seeking quality training provision.
Thanks

Sutton School has greatly benefited from the expertise, care, and supportive environment provided by Startright Training, which has enriched the curriculum offer for a number of our pupils.
The individualised programs tailored to meet each student’s unique needs have been exceptionally successful. Not only have our students earned relevant qualifications, but they have also significantly enhanced their social skills and self-esteem.

Good afternoon,
I have worked with Steve and Mark at Startright for a number of years now and they are always willing to work with the students I send them.
The relaxed environment and approach suits our students very well and it is a delight to see them not only engage but excel in all aspects of their training.
I only wish I could send more students…
Kind Regards

Hello Startright
Following my conversation with Ste last week; I can confirm that l have spoken to MH’s Mom who previously attended Brades Lodge School. Mom wanted me to pass on her thanks and best wishes to you both.
M attended the Startright pre-16 provision through his school placement. At Startright M was given the opportunity to try different construction trades and this allowed him to identify his preferred career choice. Along with this M was able to improve his confidence, gain an awareness of the world of work and he was fully supported to achieve a recognised qualification. Mom feels that if M had not received the support and encouragement he has from Startright and school then he would not have been able to successfully go onto Post 16 provision. M is now in his last few weeks of his bricklaying course at Dudley College and he has successfully completed this course and Mom is very proud of his achievements.
Mom was very keen to pass on her thanks and best wishes to you.
Kind regards
Debbie

“Sandwell Community School (The Bridge Campus) have sent our pupils to Startright over a number of years to study Construction and to achieve various qualifications.
The most important thing you should know about Startright is their ability to work with our students and to get the very best out of them. We are always delighted at the solid relationships they build with both student and their family.
We particularly like Startrights, CAN DO attitude and their ability to look forward to identify potential new opportunities for our students.
Thank you Startright you have truly made a difference to our students”.

“Over the years I have used a variety of training providers with varying success for our school, Phoenix Collegiate (formerly Manor High and Menzies High). Two years ago I stumbled across a real Gem in startright training as not only do they provide the accredited routes for our learners that other providers may have done, they also provide our learners with real experience and knowledge of the construction industry.
Their dedicated staff go beyond the curriculum and give our students a real insight into the world of work in a caring but professional environment and all our students only have positive things to say about their experiences. In terms of my role in school:
They have simple online systems that are effective and work for our school.
They are responsive and provide reports and grade checks in a way that transfers well to my school systems and will adjust things to suit my needs. They go the extra mile if I ask them to run training in things like helping my 6th from gain their CSCS health and safety cards for site work, time permitting
These extra elements make them by far the best construction provision I have procured for my students over the years and make startright a shining star in terms of giving our students the start they need”.

“When selecting Alternative Provision strong emphasis is placed on making sure that the placement offers accredited pathways that lead to a wide range of vocational qualifications and support progression at Post 16.
Startright Training has presented this opportunity to one of our students, who completed the Edexcel BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Construction. The provision illustrates the success of the Academy’s approach in fully engaging students who face challenging circumstances and have been at serious risk of alienation from mainstream education.
The provision is well organised and managed effectively. Students who have previously completed the course have emphasised how positive they are about both their current experiences and the benefits of Alternative Provision“.

“I am writing to thank you for the hard work and commitment you and your team have shown my students.
Since September, I have referred some challenging students to you who
have been out of education for long periods due to their emotional and
behavioural problems. It has been exceptional how you have helped them
to overcome their barriers to learning and re-engage them back into
education.
Your enthusiasm for teaching and genuine interest in their future has
meant that you have successfully established regular attendance patterns
for students who were previously non-attenders. You have helped them to work towards gaining some excellent qualifications in a very short space of time. All your hard work has enabled my students to access positive transition routes post 16, into further education, training or
employment.
It is refreshing to know that even when the odds are stacked against
you, you can rise to the challenge and deliver some fantastic results. I
know I can count on you to help move disadvantaged young people on to
become successful young people with bright futures.
Thank you once again. I know I speak on behalf of the Dudley MBC,
parents and young people when I congratulate you on a job well done.
I look forwards to working with Startright for many more years to come”.
Thank you!

“With so many training providers out there it is refreshing to know that Startright has a genuine interest in the whole welfare of students and treats them as people not products.
I have been impressed by the professional service provided by Startright. I was pleased by their flexibility in offering bespoke taster days that enabled us to ensure students were suited to the course before committing the school to a full term of payment.
The management of the whole enterprise is friendly and efficient as is their delivery and manner with students.
Startright offer quality learning opportunities that are clearly supported by a unique interest in the pastoral development of each student.”
Joe Maggs – ‘Connexions in Action’ Manager , Alexandra High School
“I’m pleased to say I’ve been impressed by the quality of the provision given to my students.
Strict Health and Safety guidelines; efficient communication with school and parents and best of all the success achieved by students who follow the expert advice and support by staff.
This company will do all they can to promote “Inclusion” and help young people become part of a working community that benefits themselves and their families.”
R Brown, The High Arcal School, Sedgley, Dudley
“Startright Training is run by very capable and understanding trainers who work with the young people of Ruskin House PRU in a very positive and supportive manner.
They offer our students the opportunity to find out if training in the construction industry is really what they want to do and if so, open up the opportunity for them to gain knowledge, experience and most importantly, qualifications.
The training centre is run very efficiently and the atmosphere in the building is cheerful and motivating.
All the pupils from Ruskin House who have tried the training at Startright have spoken positively about their time there, even those who chose not to take up that trade.
I hope that Startright continue to expand their training and positive attitude to supporting those pupils with alternative educational needs.”
Mr. S. R. Walder (Head of Centre), Ruskin House PRU, Sandwell
“I am a mentor at the Bridge Centre and I work with students aged 14 – 16 who have behaviour difficulties.
Startright have re-engaged some of our young people who work better on practical subjects. Mark and Stephen have built up a good rapport with the students and have given them a sense of achievement. Communication between Startright and the Bridge Centre is commendable to keep the students on track.
One of our students has benefited from a one to one programme which has been delivered after schools hours.”
