We are an accredited training centre, mainly working with referrals from education authorities for 14 – 18 year olds, to enable them to gain qualifications via alternative provision.

There may be points attached to the qualification your students are studying with us, which are useful for school league and attainment tables.

Upon completion of the guided learning hours, for completion of the full Level 1 Diploma – 360 GLH of the vocational qualification as set by the the Awarding organisation.

The qualifications at Startright Training Ltd currectly being delivered are:

Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory AWARD in Construction (70 GLH) Qualification Number 603/5132/9)

Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory CERTIFICATE in Construction (180 GLH) Qualification Number 601/8543/0)

Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory DIPLOMA in Construction (360 GLH) Qualification Number 601/8544/2)

The above qualifications are designed to meet Ofqual requirements.

The qualifications prepare learners for progression to Level 2 BTECs or other study programmes. They provide progression by either meeting entry requirements in their own right or by being accepted alongside other qualifications at the same level and adding value to them; typically maths and English studies.

Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory in Construction

All students referred to us going forward; will now work towards a Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory Qualification.

Your student will learn various practical construction skills i.e: Carpentry, Bricklaying, Painting & Decorating, Health & Safety in Construction, acquire basic knowledge in construction drawings, making minor household repairs also some tiling and plastering etc. Learners will also develop pre-employability skills and knowledge needed to allow them to progress to further learning and training.

The above qualifications are an essential stepping stone for any student thinking about a future career in construction, before moving on to more advanced levels.

CSCS Green Card Level 1


Startright is now delivering the above qualification to our current learners who have completed the Level 1 Diploma and wish to also attain a CSCS Green card.

Pearson BTEC Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (601/1861/1)

This qualification once achieved; is a qualification for life, it does not need to be retaken unlike the CITB Site safety plus – Health & Safety Awareness one day course which needs to be repeated every five years.

The qualification is 40 guided learning hours and is one unit worth 4 credits. The unit consists of Five learning outcomes:

  • LO 1 – Know the principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and safety at work.
  • LO 2 – Know the importance of safe manual handling in the workplace.
  • LO 3 – Know the importance of working safely at height in the workplace.
  • LO 4 – Know the risks to health within a construction enviroment.
  • LO 5 – Know the importance of working around plant and equipment safely.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The learner to complete all learning outcomes working alongside their Assesor and also practice the mock computer generated tests within centre. 

WHAT NEXT?

Upon completion and certification of your qualification, you will then need to contact the Pearson Test Centre to arrange your CSCS Green Card Test at the address below.

You can only do this once in receipt of your Certificate.
